Goals
- Contact and link with agencies working with poor women human trafficking victims, and women with HIV to offer our service in underserved areas worldwide.
- Provide sensitive, culturally competent education and support regarding cervical cancer, diagnosis and treatment.
- In a single visit, provide screening, diagnosis, and treatment of precancerous cervical lesions.
- Confirm diagnosis and find invasive cancers by laboratory examination of specimens from each case, using the data for quality control.
- If invasive cancers are found, assist the victims to obtain appropriate care, including providing funds for transportation to a treatment center.
- Provide follow-up visits to each site at 6-month intervals, to re-examine treated women for recurrence, and to see new clients.
- Provide training to local health workers in screening and follow-up PAP tests, Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) and treating precancerous lesions.
- Recruit and train volunteer doctors and counselors to expand the number of sites visited.
- Raise funds to purchase equipment, supplies, laboratory services, interpreters and travel expenses.
